He mentioned it's a bit more soldier-like, if I recall.

This makes me really wonder...

He definitely did, if I'm not mistaken he said it had a futuristic soldier look. I mentioned previously that there may or may not be a coincidence to Matt including a link to the Gendrone Chronicles comic in the Glyninjas backstory post. In that comic there's some soldiers shown around midway or so. We'll see if the alt side of the Glyninja head favors them or not soon enough

I went back to check it out. I kind of doubt it, since it appears to be a full face-plate.

I'm assuming that pretty much everything covered by the scarf is going to be a big painted faceplate surface. With the overhanging visor, I'm guessing a Master Chief/Halo kind of face.

Matt did mention the alternate face being inspired by his Skate Wars illustrations, a lot of which bare a striking resemblance to Master Chief. Check out the dude on the left!

Funnily enough the dude on the right pretty much has the Neo Sarvos helmet.

I'm hoping later on we get some clear or smoke Glyninjas so I can replicate the awesome "ghost" powers from Ninja Spirit

Image

And we need a Green Glyninja so we can have a "fallen" Glyninja like the original and best Green Ranger or Green from Gunstar Heroes.
Image

And like both of them, they'd need an evil & green personal robot in the vein of Dragonzord or Seven Force (I'm looking at you RoboForce) to show how awesome they are.

I agree with you, that was my thinking prior to the lost recent pics that had a bit of a peek at the top of the alt Glyninja face. One thing that made me lean that way also was that the comic soldiers have some layered armor and if you look at the shapes they favor the Glyarmor. Its nowhere near exact but there's enough resemblance in the idea that I felt there was something there. After Matt posted his Skate Wars comment and seeing the peek at the alt Glyninja head I'm with you guys on it being more of a mask. I personally would like if the lower face were open and humanoid. Two examples I can think of are Autobot Jazz and Robocop where the head is covered on top and on the sides and there's a visor over the eyes. A full mask ala Master Chief would definitely be cool and seems spot on with that Skate Wars sketch. Either way the surprise reveal is the way to go, can't wait for my stuff to show up.

As a big Halo fan myself, I'd really love to see a Chief-esque helmet.

I did get an email back from Tracey this morning at SSM Vending. It's 250 capsule figures for $26 a set, Ninja or Animal. I emailed her the address information and called in for the credit card payment. It didn't take 5 minutes from start to finish between email and calling.

last night i had a thought. i wonder if the glyninja head will serve double duty as the replacement for the protoclone head. with the right paint mask the full face plate can easily become a cyclops (ala gly-clops on a glyarmor head). on noboto a cyclops protoclone could become a cy-clone.

I don't think the Glyninja head is wide enough.

It would work, but it'd look kind of out of place in my opinion.

The stowaway this round is a deep blue Crayboth. Not really navy blue, though. It's a bit too vibrant for that.

The blue crayboth is a nice shade that needs to see more use. Soon.
That bone PVC though...I REALLY like that hue.
It's kind of funny that with all the hubbub about the glyninjas, the most interesting figure to me was the bone skeleden. And here I was thinking it was good that skeleden was taking an extended unrest.

Also, I'll just say, the alternate Glyninja head is VERY Master Chief.

I think this is the fastest I've ever gotten my order and I thought it was fast before. Man I love this drop and these colorways. I was a little hesitant about the colorways at first but in hand they are great! The trans green skeleden was a surprise like for me because usually I don't like how the transparent armor is a lot lighter than the body color (even though they are the same pvc), but for this one the metallic green really helps it work.

Also see the mostly unpainted neo sarvos head makes me want and unpainted traveler/neo sarvos in that orange so badly! And I love the crayboth stowaway. I'd love an unpainted drop of that color too.

Double post I know but I got a lot to say haha. This drop got me thinking where are all the DT/LSA and sarvos gone and gobon too. We haven't seen those molds in ages!

Also with this being the 9th anniversary drop, I can't wait to see what new and awesome and crazy stuff coming for the 10th. Maybe since that's a big occasion we'll finally see Delphi!

Personally, I would have LOVED if the hidden figure under the Glyarmor was a normal Sarvos. That would have been a great way to keep the mold running without making a bunch of separate figures for it.

LSA and DT would also be cool to see back.

I knew it getting delivered today wasn't going to happen. The Postal truck (with someone that wasn't our usual person) drove up, dropped off the regular mail, and drove off. An hour later the package was deemed "No Secure Location Available" from that "attempt" because the postal worker was too lazy to walk the package up to the door despite the car in the driveway or the four people inside. So now with no slip I get to spend the next few days arguing with the postal service about where the heck my package really is before they auto-return it. Last time it took a week to locate a skipped delivery. Yay... :pangry:
