I'm more interested in the idea of capsule toy bit figs.

It may give me something to do when I'm waiting at a store :D

Unfortunately, three quarters for a "minifig" is really telling of the quality.

I will get them when they hit my area, but the real fun thing will be to find on the road now. The last 10 years I've seen KO Transformers based on the mini ones from the '80s, Battletech and Gundam KO mini figures, and very randomly metal tools as keychains which look 1/6th scale. Bring on the Bit Figs.

So what will Series 2 be since they mentioned a second one going out? Pheyden and co?

It'll be fun to hunt for them.

I can't wait to see how people apply them to builds

I wonder if the Minecraft/World Of Nintendo craze is what helped enable something like this to go nationwide.

Note: This first round will be available strictly through vending, but we have some super limited edition colors coming next month - sign up here to get on the list.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong but it looks like the bit figs won't be on sale tonight. It's kind of a disappointment, but I live close (2 hrs away) from Onell headquarters so hopefully these will pop up by me.

I really hope I'm wrong and that clamshell set are gonna be offered tonight!

If there are none of the vending machine Bit Figs are up for sale tonight, I should have some in hand and available for folks within a week or so. I'll update when they arrive.

From Marc on the blog:

"We were just informed by SSM that one of their biggest vendors is located in the Midwest and already received the first shipment, so they should be going in machines within the next few days!"

I'd imagine so. Tube Heroes, Terraria, and a few others as well that have been doing the retro "8-bit" look. One of those Monthly box subscriptions were offering up 8-bit sunglasses.

That might also explain why they are a little more "generic", like they're not normal Glyos characters. Though the Skeleton could totally be Pheyden.

I like it! :-D I was just thinking if these aren't for sale tonight someone should order some from SSM directly and offer them on the forum. If that's where you're getting them from was the cost and how many do you get? Also any requirements for purchase i.e. do you have to have proof you are a store owner or something?

Yeah, I just called them up directly. They said it was no problem to sell directly to individuals. If I heard the lady correctly, she said there are 256 figures in a bag and the price is $26 per bag. They also had the display card inserts for the vending machines. With figures attached, the cards are $3.50. Without figures attached, the cards are $1.00. I ordered one bag of each assortment (ninjas and animals) plus one card with figures attached for each set. She said shipping would be about $20 and they would send them out in a day or two. A ton of minis for around $80. :pblue:

Was it sales or the default number you used? I think I'll shoot them an email about getting a bag. Could be great for Halloween instead of candy.

I called the 800 number listed on the website and then option 2. I think it was Tracy that I spoke with. Very friendly and made the transaction a pleasant experience.

Ah, good. That's who I assumed and sent the email to. Much easier than driving Walmart to Walmart and hoping to have enough quarters. She will probably be surprised how many will just take the bulk sale option. lol.

I'm going to avoid the bulk option to give myself something to do when waiting at a grocery store

Lol. I told her to be prepared for a bunch of calls on these. So she asked what the big deal was and I had to unleash the geek.

I wonder if you could bulk order a bunch of the card with figures sets? That way you could have a full set of panted figures with a nice display.
If someone did that as a middleman, I bet a bunch of people would buy a set or two off of them. I know I would.

I don't see why you couldn't, if they're selling them already.

My only concern is maybe how much they'd have in stock.

If you look in the upper right hand corner of the second picture in the post it shows that there's a red bitfig with glyarmor paint-apps which means that there's probably painted and unpainted versions of each figure in each color. This would put it at a total of 50 various figures in each of the two series released (25 painted and 25 unpainted). The painted guys on the cards look to be the normal colors for the characters so if you want the 20 painted variants that aren't the characters standard color you'll still have to do some hunting.

You're probably right about all that. Still, I'd be fine with a painted set of standards, I think. Anything else would be gravy.
