Maybe the Holiday Crayboth is peppermint flavored? :p

...Scented Crayboth would be AMAZING!

Netkid wrote:Matt told me the mystery crayboth uses colors from the next drop not featured in this drop. So it's not hades/glow/voss/white.

I think it might be red & green because they recently used those colors in the latest kabuto mushi drop.

At first I was like "Just another preview fig? If I'd have known that I wouldn't have bothered."

But saving that $4 wouldn't have let me get anything else, really. And if red and green are on the table due to the stuff from the Mushi drop, then there is still hope for a dedicated Xmas Cray. It's got to be more elaborate than a teaser, right?

I wonder if there is any clue in "type zero"
If it's colors from a future release, Christmas will have past and a red/green cray might not be as relevant.

Maybe it's 'zero' as in subzero temperature and it's a icy Crayboth using some sort of frosted looking plastic??

Zero is the name of the ghost dog in the Nightmare Before Christmas. Maybe black/white (or glow again) with orange paint on the "nose" of the Crayboth?

Unless 'Zero' means the character from Megaman X? His armor was mostly red with green accents.

All good speculations, I thought Zero from NBC too but Zero from Megaman sounds alot more likely.

All cool theories on the mystery cray! I especially like the subzero one! But if it is a preview of the next drop I don't think it will be red and green because Christmas would not be as relevant as it is now, also when I went to Dcon and Marty showed me his Christmas mushi he said that Matt was not interested in the red and green color scheme, you never know with them though!

Well, whatever it is, I just hope it is more interesting than a preview figure or some random, two-tone painted Cray. Being sold as a mystery has my expectations pretty high.

Matt has left Cray (as well as other things) a mystery in the pre-drop lists before, so this could be just a switch-up of that formula, since there was no list at all this time. A four dollar investment isn't that much to ask of people for a proven product that only differs in color no matter the release anyway. But it will still be a bit of a let down if this isn't something a little off the wall.

Honestly, your expectations are right be high. Didn't it go for $5? This means it may have about as much paint as the reverse Hallowboth released a few months ago. :cray-hallo2:

It was the same price as the Crayboth Dark Spectre. Expecting it to be anything more than a production Cray in an unknown color/paint scheme is a little unrealistic. You sound like you will be disappointed if it's not a customized figure with mini Christmas decorations glued on.

I have a theory on what the crayboth might be! The dark image does look white and black, but maybe it is not Matt's white and black glyarmored traveler, but it still could be based on one of Marty's Kabutos! Maybe it is not based on Marty's Christmas mushi, but his smokey translucent white and black Mushi X which is kind of snow themed, so it could also fit the whole sub zero theory if that actually does have something to do with it.

I believe Marty said that colorway was shared with Onell

I mean, I already said it was only four bucks, so it was worth a shot. So whatever disappointment I might feel will be pretty mild.
But offering a mystery figure that ends up being the same old same old will be a little underwhelming.

What I'm hoping for is at least a new type of paint mask. Something along the lines of that Cray from the Weaponeers line that looked like a bird. Maybe work as one thing now, and get repurposed as something else later.

And, honestly, a solid red Cray with a little Santa hat glued on top doesn't seem unrealistic. It could be. I don't know. But there are plenty of cheap xmas decorations being produced at this time of year, and it is not beyond the realm of possibility that the factory might have access to a bulk supply of little pre-made red felt hats that they could slap on the figure without breaking the budget.

First drop back after a while. I only scored one enforcer, but I wanted at least three for an anti-armovor task force. Hopefully it gets redone. I can't wait to experiment with the armor. Skeleden opened a world of building, but with this more sci fi look
It'll be even cooler.

Well, it was actually $5.

Instar X Mushi might be the color of plastic used. Add in some panel lining and maybe some blues and we'd look atsomething fairly icey no?

I've been wanting that color in Glyos for years.
Though I didn't pick it up, I would flip if I found out about ice/frosted ice figures.
And what with this new Glyarmor mould?
I would lose it.

Now that I look at the picture again it seems the details on the cray could also be blue. If you also look very close though, you can see words in the dark image that says happy holidays!

Excuse the crappy tablet editing.

Here's what I could get from the screencap.

Maybe someone else can make a clearer image themselves.

Crayboth Type Zero.

Guys. Let's not kid ourselves here. We already know what that "Type Zero" really means.

(quietly takes briefcase full of corporate cash)

In all seriousness, it's a nifty idea, and not so much of an investment for what'll be a pleasant little surprise. As for the name, considering how only two things came up with Google, this being one of them, the other being this, we might just have to wait and figure out the mystery once people start getting boxes.

(Though, if it turns out to be this, kudos to iwao for sleuthing it out.)

a clear brown crayboth with black, red and white paint apps...that might actually be pretty cool. Throw in some metallic flakes and that tiny santa hat and it'll be a winner. Can we get a pepsiman traveler next drop?

Blog updated! It showcases a Glyan wearing the Glyarmor! Looks pretty good! Wonder of it would work on a Deep Space Glyan??

And good Star Wars to all of Onell!
