Let the speculation begin!
None of these symbols look familiar to me at least immediately. Any ideas?
At first glance I was a bit meh at getting yet another shade of brown and yet another shade of green, but that purple/gold combo has definitely gotten my attention!

The first image reminds me of the top half of the original Argen head. :arg1:
The second i'm not sure about.
The Third reminds me of Noboto's Backpack :nobo:

I agree, the third definitely made me think of Noboto's backpack too, the second kind of looks Phaseon-like to me.

Oh jeez, now that you've both said it it's so obvious now. Ha!
So assuming it will be a Gendrone-heavy drop I'm hoping we'll see a Mechabon in the mix. John had said on IG that there wouldn't be a new Toyfinity drop until April/May, so it's perfect timing to sneak the Gendrone versions of Toyfinity figs into the drop.

I started watching Robotech over the weekend, Matt’s not so subtle hint of Micronians had me thinking...

A few drops back he had hinted he was working on updating some old characters. So I’ll drop a few quotes for example.

The Glyan was designed with many of Rechlen's aesthetics interwoven throughout the body forms.

The original plan was to eventually make a new set of head/torso/pelvis parts that would combine with the Glyan to make the individual Space Trappers. We even hid many of their Rigs within the Robo Force Kits, which we explored a bit, thematically, with the VRD story arcs.

Most likely we will follow the original plan outlined above (parts have been worked on), but there is also something neat about the original smaller scale.

It's a work in progress, for certain!

Remember so far all Matt has admitted to was that the Roboforce Gendrone will be onboard this drop.

the Gendrones will have some representation in a special form of the Robo Force-born GF Defender.

And then this

2019 will bring back some molds that have been taking a little vacation, as well as see the introduction of a number of new ones.

And one more

I've been sculpting on multiple projects, but a couple in particular are really in focus now. One is maybe something you'd expect, and the other, maybe not so much.

With that, and the obvious homage of Robotech, where the Villser will be the giant Aliens (Zentraedi)...

the Villser for this round might make long time fans of big alien bad guys that fight transforming planes piloted by Micronians smile.

...and presumably the Glyans will play the Micronians, what head are we all forgetting got retired back in 2016? And bears a striking resemblance to the Micronian’s helmet?

I think we are seeing the return of the Neo Sincroid head, and possibly parts that could lead to Rechlen and Aves...call me crazy, but it came to me in a dream.

I've been watching the Macross series since the whole Micronian hint came up. No prior knowledge really of the whole Robotech series, but this photo really got me thinking:
Image

Pretty clear that the purple/light-purple/gold Villser is gonna be a pretty clear reference to the Zentradi.
And the mustard from the gif very could be inspired by the the mecha on the right in that pic, and I suspect that the GF Defender could very well be in it's walker configuration that we have seen before. But if that's the case it feels a bit too similar to the EMP wave (before my time, but never really drew me in). We know that whatever color the GF Defender is, there will be a full assortment of accessories, so it's pretty safe to assume that a glyan and the Neo-sarvos will match that, or possibly a glyarmored glyan.
The green is confirmed Volkriun green. Kinda hoping that it will match last year's TFV green so I can skip it (I went pretty heavy on that colorway) just so I can save some cash....but we all know that ain't gonna happen. haha.

If I had my druthers (I'm not gonna get my hopes up), I'd really love the GF Defender in the purple colorway. But who knows....the whole "recalibrate", "replicate" and "duplications" themes haven't really been discussed in the comments yet, so maybe there will be more than one!

Same here, after watching a few episodes many of the mechs were recognizable as I had a few minis as a kid and the chicken walkers from the Zentradi are too distinct to forget.

My guess is we will see Villser in the Volkriun green, since it’s a mold we still have yet to see in that color Matt also hinted that there will be a mini build from another figure. I wonder if we’ll get a Noboto in Volkriun as well?

To me it seems the Plum and Purple still fit well with the higher command Zentradi, so my guess is we’ll at least have one green and one purple or plum Villser. I’d also imagine these are going to be up there in price $18, as the homage would require some elaborate paint apps.

With Matt’s comment about real type, I agree that the RF kit will probably be mustard, which has my attention. Especially if we see some Glyans in that colorway. Some of my favorite realtype from way back were the first Esedeth Glyans.

Getting a warmer realtype would be fun especially with all the accessories to match.

As for the Neo Sarvos, I was kinda thinking that would show up in light purple, I don’t know why...just my gut.

The colors were spot on for this drop. Really love seeing these atypical "real-type" hues and how they play with each other. Also, that new Roboforce + Miniborg kit is really clever! Going to be hard to resist getting another set...

Overall a really nice wave - but I am a bit disappointed that none of the Glyans came in the mustard yellow colorway since this limits the build potential. But on the bright side those new helmet tampos would make for some awesome Axis Armored Commando units, so there's definitely some build fun to be had.

Yeah, I was hoping similarly, either a mustard glyan or more build parts for the purple glyans. After seeing the previews of the glyans I was keeping my fingers crossed for matching glyarmors....man, I’d love some demi-Varteryx in those purples!
Looking forward to getting my hands on that RF kit, that blue accent just pops so great. And I’m loving the new build, that was quite unexpected and creative!
