Winners have been announced here! Congrats to our lucky eleven, and thanks to all for playing!

:phey: :exe1: :cray: Happy Anniversary! :cray: :exe1: :phey:

Hey there, everyone! I know, it's a little soon to have yet another contest, but in honor of a big milestone, let's have a little celebration of our own!

:tb-arg18: The Rules: :tb-eny6:

What's been your favorite Glyos moment over the past ten years? Was it the first time you opened a Custom Corps blind bag? Or was it when you first thought of what you could do with a Hub Set, a Glyan, and two Axis Joint sets? Maybe it was meeting the team at NYCC, Monsters vs. Robots, or DCon. Or maybe it was seeing your kid put together an alien using a whole bunch of parts and proudly showing off the latest creation.

Whatever it was, all you need to do is make a post here, sharing that moment, and you're entered. No pictures required!

Just like last time and every time, the winner will be chosen at random using RANDOM.org's Sequence Generator. Each user will be assigned a number based on the order of their entry, which will then be used for the Sequence Generator. That way, it's not like someone who's been along for the entire ten years will have an edge over one of our newcomers.

The deadline for entry will be the night of August 3rd, at 9:00 pm Eastern. The winner will be announced immediately afterward in the Mini-Chat for the drop, just in case someone wanted to grab some extras for their prize. (I'll post the winners in this thread, too.)

One last thing, though. Going forward, you will need to PM me within one week to claim your prize, or it'll be bumped to the first runner-up. In the past, we've had unclaimed prizes sit and gather dust, and so we want to give everyone who enters a fair shot at taking something home!

:nobo: :gobon: The Prizes :gobon: :nobo:

For our first place winner, Rig Killer Dark Argen:

For our second place winner, Task Major Dark Enyriun:

For our third place winner, Villser Core Axis Armored Argen:

Our sixth place winner will receive The Sendollest Survivors:

? ? ?

Our seventh place winner will receive the Time to Trap Some Monsters! bundle:

? ? ?

Our eighth place winner will receive the Escape to the Rift! bundle:

Thanks for all the great contests you've put on over the years Kranix; more than I can count and this is another goody with fabulous prizes!
My fave moment; sometime end of (2013?) cruising various build pics here (then October Toys forum) finally realizing that you could split AXIS joints in half. Been copying you guys ever since. Really, it's the mind blowing builds and homages that kept me interested long enough to realize that this is the best toy/system that I have encountered; easily the best community of collectors too.

This giveaway sounds fun, thank you for doing this! :cray-voss:

I'm still somewhat new to Glyos, but my favorite moment so far was getting This lovely Gobon from a member of the Glyan Exchange. Something just feels incredibly special about having a one-of-a-kind figure, and it's inspired me to do some customizing of my own (Although I haven't started yet :psweat:)

I'm looking forward to seeing what lies in the future of Glyos! It's as big as ever, and only going up from here! :gobon-mor:

I myself have only been apart of this community since December of 2014. I've loved everything about this place and these people.
My favorite moment would have to be the release of the Tigerforce mushi. Mainly the Bluestar mushi.
Not only was they my first mushi's, it also introduced to my now favorite line. Marty knows how make a toy look good. I really look up to him!

I'm still a newbie around here (only started collecting in November), and this may be a bit cliché, but my favorite moment so far has to be opening and playing with my first glyos toy ever.

When I got that package from Nistuff and pulled out that little Stabilized Toal, a figure I had picked-out partially due to the sale price it had at the time, figuring I wouldn't particularly like this weird new glyos thing but wanting to give it a shot after seeing TJOmega's Glyos 101 series, I had no idea what I was in for.

I'd never had a figure quite like it before, and I've gotten that same feeling of quality, creativity, and fun from every glyos figure I've bought since, from Onell to the Godbeast to SpyMonkey and beyond.

It's been an amazing ride so far, and I couldn't be happier that I found this lovely little corner of the toy universe, with its great figures and even greater people. I hope to be around for a long time to come.

The thing that pushed me to start collecting Glyos is also my favorite piece of Glyos lore.

My favorite memory is 8 years ago. I ordered an all black Sarvos and a build man for my son's 5th birthday. I emailed Matt to make sure I would get the package in time (it was different then) and he emailed back to ask what My son's favorite character was. I said he liked the sarvos because it reminded him of symbiote Spider-Man. When the package arrived it had a "custom" red and blue sarvos with a hand drawn spider symbol on it making a special one of a kind Spider-Man figure for him along with some other figures for his birthday. My son still treasures that figure ( it has never been disassembled unless he got injured in a battle while he was playing with it). It really showed how much Matt cares about the customers and even though I don't buy much anymore I still check the blog daily for updates. I'm a lifer...

It's hard to pick out one moment...so many great things about this line! So, anyhow:

The Council of Travelers drop was my first drop. I had no idea how stuff really worked; we've all been there. Well, a bunch of stuff sold out quickly and I didn't really know what to do so I ended up eventually ordering 3 Urballim Pheydens. I had also picked up a translucent yellow and translucent blue Pheyden off of ebay and those were on the way. My youngest son still cherishes those two Pheydens and has mashed those parts a billion different ways with other Glyos since then.

So, yeah...I'm trying to figure this stuff out and read the CoT comic. The reveal of Phanost inside of Naspoth Sarvos and the combination of Phanost and Argen blew my mind and made for a good story. Then peoples' packages started arriving and the Mordireus Phanost head was included with Naspoth Sarvos! The hunt was on, but it took me quite a long time to finally track one down. Now my youngest son and I each have one of these. Then, the Gatekeeper comic continued on with the Mordireus "powered up" theme and it's been one of our favorite colorways ever since.

There are glimpses of the Delphi in the CoT comic and there were rumblings of the Delphi coming soon back in 2012. These mysterious figures have captivated me from the beginning. I was lucky enough to finally acquire a Delphi, but now maybe the opportunity is coming soon to build an army?

One other early memory that really opened the doors for me as far as the community and the trading was after the first release of Noboto. Everyone that was around remembers exactly how that went down with the first Paypal meltdown. I got a translucent Noboto and had mostly wanted the Ivorinium Noboto, so I put it up for trade. Kranix traded me a Neo Voss Sarvos for the Noboto and I was blown away! An older figure I couldn't easily get, Sarvos has been my favorite traveler ever since and anything voss colored is prized around here. One of my other boys LOVES the voss and that figure Kranix traded is his very favorite figure in his collection.

Thanks again for all the wonderful giveaways and customs over the years K-Man! Can you believe it’s been a decade already?

When it comes to the most awesome Glyos moment, (that WASN’T Pheyden at Kaiju Big Battel!) I gotta submit, to the courts, this moment from the Glyos Comics:

Image

Spoiler alert: Traveler Council Member Naspoth Sarvos TURNS OUT TO BE PHANOST!!!

WHO SAW THAT COMING?!?!?

Even better, the Fig came with that trans-pink HEAD!

That whole drop was perhaps the most epic thing since sliced bread, I mean- we got it ALL! The reappearance of GOLD, trans-fluorescent pink, metallic marbled light-blue, some AWESOME purple figs, CYLODOC, Armorvor, a PHANOST/ARGEN FUSION, and if you dig around any archive of the old OT forums, someone (I forget who now, hell it was back in November of 2012!) MADE A CUSTOM of that Battle Damaged Helmeted Phanost!

Yeah, good times man!

EDIT: Do'h! The fellow above me said the same thing!!! Just shows you how damn good that drop was!

I came in with the Titan Skeleton crossover so everything was still new to learn about at the time. On the OT forum someone posted the first two Gendrone Force Defenders for sale which was a great way to try the Robo Force line as I was sampling items from all the sister companies to see what I liked most. That started me down the slippery slope of tracking down every single RF set afterwards. Now I have a couple of large boxes stuffed with Glyos I just don't have the room to put on the shelf. So all of the shelves get rotated every few months with some new and some old as the collection continues to grow.

Like a week after getting the first two Defenders, Gendrone Imperium drops. Fate!

Hey there, everyone! Thanks so much for sharing your favorite Glyos moments so far!

Just chiming in to say that the new prizes have been posted, and while some won't be getting pictures, there may be subtle hints about their contents all the same. (Also, like a doof, I forgot to include the other pieces for Hyper Henshin and Glyninja Iken above. Rest assured, they are part of the prizes, too!)

I still remember the day you posted that to the old boards. It's awesome to hear that he still has that guy! (Also, your son has excellent taste. We need Sarvos back!)

We still a week left to enter, so jump right on in, folks!

My favorite memory happened when I received my first Robo Force figure, Battlestar the Guardian. I was fairly new to Glyos at the time, and the fact that the Robo Force kit could be rebuilt into all sorts of different things - without having to buy extra figures or parts - really showed me the potential of Glyos as a building system. I must have spent hours assembling and disassembling the pieces, trying to see what kinds of robots or machines I could make.

My favorite moment was the long awaiting production of Noboto.

I fell in love with him since the first time I layed eyes on him in the custom corps.

=)

It's only been five years for me, and while I've wavered in my Glyos collecting from time to time, Matt's brilliance, the great sister companies, and the great community have kept it alive for me. The universe of Glyos toys are pretty much my only artistic outlet at times and it always feels good to nail a new build and be inspired by other amazing builders.

If I have one moment that really just hit me, it has to be Toyfinity's release of Vanguard. It put an awesome capstone on an already tremendous wave of Glyaxia crossovers and all of those pieces and all that deluxe paint were to die for.

My favorite was the production drop of LSA. That bad boy is sick. I wish to see him/them again.

Yeah, the deluxe LSA figures are a huge highlight. I have a literal army of them!

And Nez...I couldn't agree more about the CoT comic and drop!

Wow another contest from the glyos ambassador kranix! You are far too kind and a pillar of the glyos community. My favorite glyos moment is getting my first big drop order and seeing my son and daughters imagination go crazy building, losing parts, and complaining how their fingers hurt!! Also having my first gobon for almost a month until I discovered the extra head in the body!! Who knew??!! :gobon:

kranix, after all these years, life hasn't yet burned out your generosity. So very many good moments with these people that they kind of blur into a single happy place to be. :)

One particular feeling that doesn't fade is when I first approached the Glyos booth at SDCC and instantly being welcomed like a long-lost brother. I'm no stranger to conventions or internet friendships, but that was the first convention I attended alone, without an IRL companion; I shouldn't have worried. It continues to amaze me how quickly one can bond with other Glyos fans.

Another great moment is less general, more specific to me: when Matt Doughty reached out to me, from out of the blue, to compliment a build I had made. I knew Matt by then, but to have the creator of Glyos, who has always been a busy man, to email me and say he liked my build... that's a moment in time that stays with me.

And kranix, no need to put my name on the list, I was just wanted to share. :)

Watching my first new release was pretty exciting so i'll go with that. It was The Black Bridge of Glyosar release. I didn't even buy anything cause I was so broke but it was amazing how much excitement there was and the chip tune song and painting just made it seem special. The song got played on repeat that night.

You're a class act, Cappy.

That being said, we are up to 18 entrants so far, and lots of good moments are being shared by all! If you've been on the fence, there's still plenty of time to jump in for a chance at taking home a prize.

In the meantime, I'll say this: I have too many favorite moments to even answer my own question!

Gaining friendships that move beyond the board? Having late night conversations way back in the early days? Setting up all the contests and gift swaps over at the old boards? Food crawling at St. Mark's and, once, outside of Boston? Seeing krakit's expression from his Custom Corps unbagging video? Passing around an old Scar Pheyden for everyone to mark up or giving Jesse a "trophy case" a bunch of us put together for Callgrim?

There's no way I can reasonably pick just one. But I will say this: every time someone shares a build, a bit of insight, or even just a little excitement, that is my favorite moment. And I look forward to many more in the years to come!

Thanks Kranix for doing what you do 10+ give aways is so generous!

I think my favorite moment was gettin my first big order in of Onell figures. The Morderius Skeleden, Dreadvalken Phanost mkii, reverse Pheyden and the smoke Skeleden armor kit. At the time the organic armor prices really spoke to my aesthetic. I loved ripping apart and swapping colors. To this day my Dreadvalken Phanost still wears his smoke armor.
