Yup, I'm new here. Hi!

I'm a 40-ish guy... I followed a pattern that might be a bit typical-- got back into actually buying toys as a result of having kids. And I do actually play with my toys, with my kids, which really drives a lot of the enjoyment for me. Well that and obsessively hunting and planning what to buy next ;).

My biggest 'collection' at the moment is Transformers (Generations and RID2015) as well as some Spider-Man-centric Marvel Universe. But I've been looking at Glyos eye candy for several years now on the web, especially good old Pheyden, love that design. And I really enjoy looking at people's customs/builds on this forum. I finally took the plunge and ordered some during the October Glyknight wave. I gotta say they are just great in hand, totally live up to the quality, fun, heft and build possibilities as I hoped.

I really like the original Villser colors (Teal-y or trans. green) so I didn't plan to buy any Villser that first order... but then Onell threw in a free Trogillian Villser for my first order, awesome! And it's probably tied for my favorite of the bunch. The paler green looks great in person. Great design. So I was basically planning on getting 2 bioskull Villser and 2 more Trogillian when I ordered for the December drop... but oops they disappeared by then!! Obviously I was not the only one waiting to do that. (Shipping is a bit steep for multiple impulse orders, since I'm in Canada.)

My dream toyline that doesn't exist would be a homage or outright reboot of the old "Interplanetary Spy" book series, anyone remember that? I could see it being done Glyos-compatible, hint hint to any designers reading ;)

I gotta be honest: biggest reason for me joining this forum is to get involved in buying some stuff (and later trading, once I have anything to trade). There are some figures from recent waves, when I was almost pulling the trigger... naturally I regret not doing it, so I'm gonna hunt those down if at all possible :).

Good to be here!

Welcome to the boards, Perceptron! (Perceptor fan, or coincidence?)

In terms of tracking down figures, it might help to start a WTB thread in the Marketplace section, though there may be a few long-time users who'll have something for you if you take a look around. We also do gift swaps and contests from time to time, so always keep an eye out in the main news area for announcements.

Just let us know if you have any questions, and good luck!

Thanks for the welcomes and advice!

Since you asked, re: the name Perceptron-- well I'm a fan of artificial neural networks (actually using them in the PhD I'm trying to get), so a "perceptron" is a thing there. But the other associations are intentional ;). In fact I do like Perceptor, as well as Megatron... (also Blacktron Lego, the movie Tron, and music gear from company "Elektron" now that I think about it).

Welcome Perceptron!

I'm somewhat new like you. I got into Glyos back in the purple drop in September. Since then my collection has been pretty much a run away train. I think I'm at around 45 figures right now and like you, slowly trying to track down everything I've missed in the first 10 years of the line.

Anyways, glad to see another newbie like me around!
