This is just a general topic for how you customize toys. My contribution is how to create burn marks on a Gundam model kit (Gunpla).

First, you need the kit you are going to customize (it must be abs plastic), a Q-tip, and a (preferably) grey or black Gundam panel lining marker.

1. Apply the marker, I recommend a bold line for wherever you want the burn to be.

2. Rub the mark (while still wet) using the Q-tip in the direction in the line to smear it. The more you rub it, the more it will smooth and blend into the plastic.

3. Let it dry and you're done!

Can't afford Green Stuff or Aves Epoxy for sculpting? Here's a cheap alternative! Marineland Hold Fast Epoxy meant for repairing aquariums. This stuff is great! Takes a little getting used to, but is fairly cheap and can be found at just about any PetSmart.

Here's a few examples of customs using this stuff:

How did I turn a black Buildman into a dark green one that is reactive to black lights?

I have a question for all the customizers here. I recently picked up a stealth armodoc that was very yellowed. Before I start messing around with my own ideas does anyone have any recommendations for clearing up the yellowing, and is it even possible? Thanks in advance!

I dunno if this works for PVC, but the first trick helped several years ago restore an old Micronauts Force Commander.
