I know there's a Lego topic, but I feel Bionicle is complicated enough to get it's own topic. Bionicle is the only Lego theme I'm still into because the system sets are too expensive for what you get.

I had high hopes for the 2015 reboot, but the new sets don't really capture the charm of the originals. Too many specialized parts and tampos.

And bring back the collectible mask packs. COLLECTIBLE MASK PACKS.

I own every 2015 Bionicle set except for Skull Warrior.

I'm going to be honest that i was not a big fan of the original toa mata, it was the bohrok that really drew me into bionical and the toa nuva kept me in for awhile.
ya I remember collectible mask packs but there was only one shop i knew that sold them and i was not in that town often so did not get to enjoy them as much as i would have liked.

Too many specialized parts and tampographs? The Toa Mata had super-specialized giant chunks of plastic making each limb. While I do like the Toa Mata, the new ones exceed them in every way, including versatility.

I'm inclined to agree- after getting a lot with 70793 Skull Basher, 70789 Onua, and TWO 70781 Protector of Earth, for $20 TOTAL, I can't believe how much better-designed the new sets are.

I finally bought one toa (Kopaka) and one protector of ice and while not hating it, I find i like the protectors better than the toa, at least in this case. but can't really put my finger on why

A lot of people don't like the new Lego Ccbs system, they say it's less coplicated, and to be fair, they are easier to build, but what I don't like about it is that the old system Let you make whatever you wanted you could make your own torso, heads, feet ect... But the new system is baby proof and the only thing I don't like about it that you usually meet a building dead end fast after placing some armor on top of some bone peices, I only biuld with OG peices now

Despite my earlier comments on the new Bionicle sets, I picked up the new Ekimu the Mask Maker set recently and was really impressed. From a build engineering and articulation standpoint, it is miles ahead of the original Bionicle sets. I'm still not crazy about the tampos, but they are fairly well integrated here.

Great design. Clear blue and gold look fantastic. The crown-like mask design is particularly beautiful. Highly recommended.

For some reason he is $22.99 at my TRU

If I can find him at his normal retail price of $15, I'll be sure to get him.
