Yeah, but the problem I'm talking about seems like it's more related to the plastic being too soft, not too hard. If you push on the specific area I mentioned with your thumb, you can feel it press inward.

When trying to push a peg into the socket, the plastic isn't firm enough to hold in place. Again, this is only when trying to peg in larger pieces into this socket. You can get smaller pieces to peg in by wiggling them back and forth.

I've noticed this myself, but only on the front and back panels. It hasn't been a problem so far in trying to plug in parts, but this block doesn't seem as firm as the block on the Robo Force kit. I've found myself twisting parts in to alleviate it when it is an issue. I'd have to look at my test shot to see if it suffered the same softness issue.

Fuzz wrote:Is anyone here having an issue with getting pegs to lock into one of the sockets on the large piece from the zeroid kit? Smaller pieces lock in because you can wiggle them back and forth, but for larger pieces, I just can't get them to lock in. We have two kits (my wife bought one for my son), and we're having the same issue with both.

After trying for a bit, I noticed this area slightly pushed in. You can see it's actually two pieces glued together, and there is a void inside. I really hate to complain because I know a lot of work went into this kit, but it seems like a design flaw may have been missed. I don't think the test shot had this issue though, so it may be due to a softer plastic with this release.

A few folks on Instagram seem to be having the same issue - https://instagram.com/p/BBAxBr6QVGW/

I do know of this issue, I meant to get back around to discussing it the other day when the items arrived. I was just too tired after the package arrived in the evening. The Onell Grey Zeroid large block does seem to feature a bit more of a loose hole at that position which wasn't present as much in the MUSCLE color version. With the MUSCLE color, you needed a bit more force to get it to take the other piece. With the Onell Grey, you should actually leave it in the freezer for a few minutes to harden it a little further before using that hole. Given the Zeroid block is glued and hollow inside (fun note, the largest RF block piece is also two glued together), it works better to freeze rather than heat up the block piece for once. As soon as I froze it a little, the block connected middle hole with the 3-piece RF tread section with the standard bit of force. It's still together even now so I'd suggest looking at that next.

Ditto, the smaller Zeroid head and so forth have no issue going in pre-freezing for the most part.

Just looked at my test shot more closely and mine has this issue. That same section is slightly indented on mine as-is so pressing in a bigger piece doesn't necessarily push it in more, it just isn't close enough to grasp the peg. I used the figure's own parts and I could get all arm pieces to plug in. I tried the head and chest pieces and the head was kinda in enough but the chest wouldn't whatsoever. Looks like the inner piece that this indented section rests on needs to be modified to allow it to be flush with the rest.

Esedeth Zeroid Issue

Is anyone else having an issue with the new Zeroid? The middle hole on the bottom of the main body piece does not clutch onto any of the Glyos plugs. I have tested it with numerous plugs, and nothing sticks.

My solution to this problem is just rotating the piece with a plug 180 while trying to screw it in. It has a roughly 80% of working.

Hey hey!
Saw the discussion of the Zeroid and wanted to jump in.

The Robo Force series figures are always a great design challenge.
We want to have a lot of fit functions on the figures, and that requires some engineering to get all of the necessary female fit functions into the pieces where they need to be.
As such, some of the pieces require multi-part glued assembly at the factory, which is the case on the big block of the Zeroid.
It cannot be made in one part, just as many of the Robo Force pieces are multi-part glued assembly.

The figures have been put through the paces here since the test shot, and we've been revising the figures since they arrived (such as adding the switch pin into the tooling).
The current round of figures just sold through Onell and the upcoming "Assassin" Zeroid release were created immediately after the test shots were authorized, and we are still making modifications to the tooling. There are always kinks to work out in the first production runs in any figures.
(Long-term Glyos System Robo Force collectors will remember that we had some issues on the second round of figures (Hun-Dred and Enemy) with hip pins popping out, and we're in a similar situation here - we're going to be working on the tooling to reinforce the parts to make it easier for building.)
We are aware of some issues with collapsing on the big block of the figure, and Matt is working with the team in China on modifying the tooling for future runs.

Again, all of the fit functions are completely functional now - they just require some additional fiddling to work as intended.
If you are having difficulty, use a smaller piece and use a turning motion to work the pieces into the holes.
This will help to open up the hole so that you can fit the other pieces in as desired.
Warming the figures up can also help, especially if you are located in cold climates.

Thanks for going on this journey with us!

If that black and red Zeroid from the new art is an upcoming release, then I am very excited! :D

Also, out of random curiosity, I checked the Toyfinity store and found a bunch of Cruel items up. Thanks for giving people who didn't buy the first time another chance.

Oh wow. Having the same issue with my test shot. Takes some doing, but I can get a peg in there firmly enough.

The glue process probably explains why we haven't seen any roboforce offerings in clear PVC yet. (still praying for redlaw w/silver)

So I took a few more pictures of the problem I was having.

On one side, it's a little difficult to get a larger pieces to peg in, but with a few twists, they will eventually lock into that middle socket.

Image

However, on the other side, I could not for the life of me make this happen. You can kind of see how the area around the socket starts to get pressed inward.

I tried this, and it seems to work, just as long as I put the larger piece in immediately after removing the smaller one. If I wait too long, the socket seems to tighten back up again.

And here is what my son and I were going for. As you can see, we wanted to connect one large body piece to another, which requires a switch pin. Adding the issue a lot of us have with that particular socket made connecting the two especially difficult. In the end it worked out though, and now we have a deluxe Zeroid figure!

I'm kind of curious, why haven't there been any clear RF kits yet? I don't know about everyone else, but I think that would look epic!

The only other reason I can think of is that the plastic is too thick and it would be super-foggy looking.

There's various Glyoverse figures that have glued parts that have been released in clear colors. Crayboth have a glued on shell & the Weaponeers chest is two parts plus one one of the Pheyden heads (scarred I think) is two parts too. I'd personally like a clear RF kit, maybe we'll get one down the road.

I'm still pulling for someone in Mordireus (or Gray Galaxy Battlestar).

Do we know what a Mordireus Callgrim has to do with Zeton yet?

Never saw the Toyfinity store was updated until just tonight: what's the story with the "Vul-Gar" mentioned in the basic Cruel description?

And how adorable is Fixer the Helper?

Speaking of adorable, love the face, NPR.

It's a seven-piece crab robot. You can see it in pictures 27 and 28 of the Toyark Cruel gallery: http://news.toyark.com/2015/11/21/robo-force-cruel-brutal-constructs-toyark-gallery-182842

The bios for the full Imperious Axis are going to be up soon!

And Club Zeton members should check their e-mail - just sent out one to all of you!
