Hello!
I wanted to introduce (or for some, re-introduce) my toyline Knights of the Slice.
Image

In the future, food delivery is such a premium service that hijackings are a common occurrence. To battle this growing crime spree, the popular chain Pizza Shunt introduces Knights of the Slice: 1 part mascot and 1 part body guard.
Image

All of the figures are 100% Glyos compatible.
You can check out more about the line on this Episode of Toy Pizza...there are also a few previous episodes that can fill you in on the entire development process!
https://youtu.be/XU3i06SEn48

The 3 main figures are available for pre-order (shipping in Oct) here http://bit.ly/KnightsPreOrder
The blind bag assortment will be hitting Hastings stores in Nov. (or sooner)

Thanks for checking it out!

I was in a Hastings yesterday, looked around for the Knights. *sigh* I didn't think they were out yet, but there was the damnable bug of hope in the back of my brain... November, huh? I guess I'll make it. :)

Yup, Mark V. has a Hastings in Ames, IA and I have one here in Lawrence, KS.

When I have Mushi Con in Oct., I can call over and see if they got them, then run the Mushi Crew over to snag some!!!

Then grab some brews in the college town!!! :D

Hey here are some custom knights of the slice figures. These guys are great for customising with gear from most 1/18 figures.

Check out more customs and artwork on Instagram @toypizza or #knightsoftheslice and there is a slowly growing database http://www.knightsoftheslice.tumblr.com

I have a Hastings about 25 min from where I live. I'll probably pick a few of these up when they hit the shelves.

I have to ask, were these guys made with inspiration from Power Rangers?

A totally fair question... the biggest influence for K.O.T.S. are from two previous lines.

1) Popy World Heroes Gallery
Image

and

2) Banpresto 3 3/4 line
Image

I was really obsessed with both these lines and wanted to do something that was a love letter to the simple kenner-esque figures of my youth mixed with a tokusatsu flair. So not direct inspiration from Power Rangers but definitely drawing from the genre PR came from.

We also just launched http://knightsoftheslice.com/ if you want to see more or submit your own customs.

My Knights came in over the weekend along with my Onell package, which made for a pretty cool weekend.

I've been tweaking this guy since yesterday afternoon.

Thanks man! I'm having a blast with these guys. These guys work really well with all sorts of 3 3/4" stuff so getting to combine that with all of my Glyos stuff is really great. And with all the other cool things I've seen people doing on Instagram, I want to paint at least one and go a bit further with the customizing.

After chatting with Godbeast today, he inspired me to jot down the different styles for all the collectors on here.

1. Test Type 00- "Cheese Platter Knight" Test shots only, not for sale, 5 pcs worldwide
2. Test Type 01- SDCC exclusive from WeLoveFine, Sold out
3.4.5. Teal- Lime - Brick : Standard releases. Available at conventions, WeLoveFine, and part of the Hastings Assortment
6. Gold - Hastings assortment chase figure, ratio of 1/12
7. Clear (Stealth)- Hastings assortment chase figure, ratio of 3/24
8. Blueberry (Integer mode)- Hastings assortment chase figure, ratio of 1/500
9. Psycho Arm- NYCC @ Clutter Booth, limited to 5 pieces
10. Skattum Knight- NYCC @ Clutter Booth, limited to 10 pieces
11. Jake (Purple)- Kickstarter Exclusive, sold out

Note the WeLoveFine stock is almost sold out. I'll be retiring the main three figures once that happens, though may run them again in the future with a different armor color.

I'm also working on hand painted styles, but unsure yet if these will be considered canonical releases or just one-offs.

Jesse, wasn't there more in the KickStarter (for which I was too laggardly and ended up missing)? Accessories like the fedora and pizza slicer hand? The standard release colors?

Yes, the kickstarter goods included a Slicer hand and a fedora as well as a bonus glyos swing joint set.

Brick, Lime, and Teal will include a slicer and hat in the Hastings assortment (as well as the ones for sale by We Love Fine). The other styles do not.

I also have special colored hats and fedoras I sell at conventions...so if you missed KS, you can still own the accessories.

Sweet news on both of those statements.

Um, are you going to be at Designer Con?

I'm reposting today's Kickstarter update-

Hello!

Lots of exciting stuff happening.

HASTING PRE-ORDER

Gohastings.com now has a preorder page for the Knights of the Slice Bling Bag Assortment
Image

http://www.gohastings.com/product/TREND ... 671121.uts

I estimate goods should be arriving and in-store in about 4 weeks. Which is good news because....

WLF IS ALMOST SOLD OUT
Image

About 5 pieces of each style remain on WeLoveFine. If you need an immediate KOTS fix, now is the time to act!

http://www.welovefine.com/search/knight ... slice.html

D-CON PLANS
Image

I'll be bringing my remaining stock (see above, less than 10 of each) to D-Con as well as hand painted KOTS and maybe another Skattum collaboration. I'll be selling at the WeLoveFine Booth so if you are going to the show, please stop by and say hi.
Image

(Shown above- work in progress hand painted samples)

STATE OF THE K.O.T.S. UNION

All kickstarter goods have been sent out and the majority of you have received yours. International packages should start showing up soon. If your goods don't arrive in another two weeks, please direct message us and we'll look into it.

Please keep posting your pics using the hashtag #knightsoftheslice! Maybe they'll end up on Knightsoftheslice.com

The line has sold very well post-kickstarter, as is evident of our stock levels being almost gone. Once this wave sells through, I am retiring the styles, never to be re-run. Brick, Teal, and Lime will continue on with an all new deco. Those who got the chrome gold armor really have something special. I'm looking at various options for wave 2, including the Copper Soldier Armor.

The Hastings assortment is the next big focus point for us. They took a big risk carrying this line and if we can all pull together to support the line not only will wave 2 be ensured, but it will open up all of the Glyos System for general retail. The more they sell the quicker we can make more KOTS.

As always, this has only been made possible thanks to your support. A profound thank you to you all!

Best Regards,

J

P.S. Don't forget to read the comic.

P.S.S. Issue #3 is underway right now...

Oh, really? Nice. Good to know.

I missed out on these during the kickstarter as I didn't have enough money at the time to go all in, and if I get one guy, I would want them all. Being able to still get the accessories pushes these guys back into the "possible purchase" category.

On the other hand, blind bags.

I know you guys didn't invent the blind bag, or rare figures, and I can imagine getting these into actual brick and mortar retail may have required it. But, man, is that sort of thing extremely collector unfriendly. Beyond just being great toys, one of the best things about the Glyos system family is the great customer service and the ability to get pretty much anything you want, assuming you have the money at the time. Even if there are convention exclusives, fellow collectors are always willing to mule, and people like Marty have gone out of their way to get leftover con stock into the hands of people that couldn't attend.

But something like a blind bag 1/500 figure that is only available at a store with no local presence? Pretty much no way I am going to be able to get that. I mean, I've made peace with the fact that I'm not going to be able to get everything I want out of any particular line I collect, but if one of the coolest versions of a figure is pretty much off the table at the beginning of the line, that's kind of a warning to stay away and avoid future frustration.
