One of my favorite things about the stowaway Cray's is the mystery of when/if we might see that color in a larger release.

I got into Glyos just about a year ago and one of the earliest Onell figures I got was the Bluestar Stowaway, I had ordered the Pheyeden blue OMFG series 3 I think. And not only did I get the Stoaway as a freebie but I also got series 2 OMFG!!! After that I was hooked, flash forward to today, I'm knee deep in Pheydens, Skeledens, Noboto's...you name it!

I think my second Stoaway was the Vilsercore. Nothing made me more excited when last December that colorway made it into the big leagues with the reveal of the Glyarmor.

So with all of these stowaways from January on. My big question has been: When will we see another wave that will incorporate a Stowaway color?! The anticipation is my favorite part.

I'd love to see the two metallic oranges make a come back. That raspberry crush mixed with either of those would be interesting.

The previous two waves, the clear orange and the semi-translucent silver gray would be a sweet combo as well.

It's been a long wait for you, but Zimzelenyy is darn close to the Skullgrey colorway. My guess is that the run last December was a test towards this June's drop. Speaking of hope-to-see, the Grape Crush metallic is so, so sweet -- I sure would like to see across the Glyos molds.

Anyway, I was dismayed to realize how long it's been since I updated the checklist. Got it done now, though, good through June 2017.

I never was sure how the stowaways fit into the production process. Does Matt run the Crayboth in test colorways to see if there needs to be a tweak done before final production? Also I was convinced up until I saw them side by side but thought for sure the raspberry crush would match the new light blue metallic. Glad to see you updating the list Cappy! I find it a valuable resource. Keep it up!

Also, I'll second wanting the grape metallic to be put into full production. It's just a shade darker than purple used on the Meta Lavalander.

Also another Stowaway that made an appearance would be the Mausa Crayboth. Cappy, I think that Mausa is actually the Metrastorm colorway from the Henshin III drop, no?

Yep, most stowaway Crayboth are color tests for upcoming Glyos waves or simply experiments. Some are fails, some get used, some are close-but-not-quite. Which is why, I believe, so many of them are metallic or clear -- from what I hear, those PVC colorings are tough to nail down, particularly with Matt pushing the envelope as he does.

And I think you've picked out a couple of winners: Mausa became Metrastorm and Raspberry Crush was a first pass at Varellius. It's a fun exercise to go through all the stowaways and guess what Matt was aiming at (with hindsight as an aid). And the timeline isn't always linear -- sometimes they will sit in Onell's attic a while before stowing away.

An interesting example is that Corona came out a month before the Varteryx Sunstorm drop -- was Matt hoping to incorporate metallic orange into that wave but didn't? Then later we got Orange Crush, but still no metallic orange production runs. What is it about metallic orange that isn't satisfying his perfectionist tastes?

And True Blue is a "damn near" for Neo Astrovos.

Hey guys, I need a hand to determine this Crayboth I happen to have up for grabs. My initial thought was that it's a Bare Alcray Standard but now I'm wondering if it's Chroma Crest. I'd appreciate your thoughts because I'd hate to trade it and the person receiving it gets something other than what they thought it was. Thanks

Always hard to tell from pictures, but:
Alcray Standard is fairly close to the original Standard Crayboth from Pack 1. Call it a peach color.
Chroma Crest is very definitely orange -- a flat, over-saturated tone. As if Matt asked "what happens if we drop 10x the usual dye into this batch of PVC?"

Also, consider the age: have you had that Crayboth in your collection for more than six months?

Does that help?

The insight definitely does help me lean one way but I need to take a better pic since it looks lighter (to me) in the pic than in-hand. Hopefully that'll help settle the confusion for me. Thanks

Here's (hopefully) a better pic of the Cray. I'm leaning Bare Alcray since it's definitely less saturated than Beastboth. I included Blackbeak Inu since it's the only Cray I have in similar orange tones. Anyway, LMK what you think. Thanks

A quick question for the all knowing of crayboth Cappy.

Is there an unpainted version of Beastboth?

=)

Yep, I'm call it Unpainted Bare Alcray. :)

Lizard Boy, I've never seen nor heard of an unpainted Beastboth.

Just curious because that would be a sweet color in an unpainted version.

Hey there, Crayboth collectors! This might be a long shot, but is there any chance that we could get a comparison shot of Corona, Orange Crush, and Chroma Crest Crayboth? Thanks!
