The Communal Purist Thread! Part 1

These are just a few original builds that I put together. I've always been particularly happy with the Phaseon Cyclops. The Sarvos builds are kind of my own standards that I put together with almost every wave of colors.

Huzzah! Such great builds to start off the new builders' thread here at GC! A lot of classics, and some rarely-seen builds that might become new classics!

Here are a few new pictures of some of my older builds to help keep this party going!

Image
Dalen and the Multiscope

Image
Mido and the Powersuit

Image
Powered down!

Image
The Observer and its companion

Image
The (Rehabilitated) Villser Monster

Image
Duros, Cid, Enyriun, and Cyrian

Image
Tracker and Vaku

Also, a quick programming note: just like the other communal threads, once we hit 100 pages, we'll be locking it down for posterity and opening up a second (and third, and fourth, and fifth...) thread.

Thanks for looking, everyone!

Hello all! I'll go ahead a dump some of my faves here too. I'd like to take some new pics of some of these so I'll replace them when I get to it.

So many mushi builds! Well here's my Beetorian King.

And a couple of my favorites:

They're fairly simple obviously, nothing as fancy as what you guys pull out but I still enjoy them.

Nice build, and nice shot! The buggy's great, too -- is it scaled to work with any particular figures?

So I got to thinkin', hey, Argen's slowly gettin' his Villser on, right?

Image

I'd like to imagine the orange orbs on the shoulders as extra eyes. Because, y'know, the thought of robots mutating wasn't horrific enough. (This does mean I have to find an alternative part for the Phaseon builds, though, unless someone has some unpainted Mushi "dots" they have lying around...)

Image

"What? A Mushi build from kranix that doesn't have a convoluted backside?" Yeah, I know. I'm scared, too.

Image

Here's a color reference, because this thing is contained. One Mushi, one Buildman, and one Axis Joint set (or an Argen Mk n, if you prefer), and here we are. It's mostly Buildman up top, and mostly Mushi down below, which probably leads to terrible jokes an unintentional homage to those two-vehicle, combining Transformers from way back.

Image

Following Enyriun's rebellion, something within Argen changed. His very being consumed by rage at the "betrayal" of his most trusted lieutenant, the Gendrone's body erupted in a storm of Axis energy. What emerged was . . . different . . . than any Gendrone had ever seen before. Only one thing was certain: Argen would be ready for the rogue Phaseon the next time...

That's all for now. Thanks for looking, everyone!

whatsup new forum. This is the first time I've posted a build. Im gonna call him the "long ARMorvor" right now. I might try to make him more proportionate but I was having a hard time with lengthening the legs and torso. It kind works with the long arms though.

Thanks! I didn't even think of the snake idea... I've been refering to the tall build as an 'Apatovor' (as in Apatosaurus) but I can see the snake bit. If I had a TON of mushi heads I could make an articulated snake tail with them :p but that would probably have trouble holding up... maybe I could call it the Hydravor? Imagining the canons as extra heads? He's made of an Armorvor, an Advanced Phaseon, an aditional Hub Set, one Axis set and two phase arm sets... with a couple of extra parts so I don't think it can be called 'contained'. The other guy though only leads behind the Armorvor's extra head. I call it the Slayer Granbane.

Also I LOVE your Argen+Mushi build! I think I'll have to try it with my blood metal buildman at some point!

This is what I've been using as a taller Armorvor:

(Battlecursed Mordirius for Traveller comparaison)
It's really simple obviously, but I like it a lot. With the hourglass figure it looks somewhat feminine.
I REALLY like the color combination of the newest metallics.
Image
Also it turns out I'm not a big fan of single color travellers, they need something to spice 'em up for me...

Also, here is my Electric Revenant Argen reconfigured into a mine sweeping bot, along side two of my Outlander 'characters', that I'd hardly call builds but I still wanted to show them off (Leyden there looks really striking in person, loving the new pale green!)
Image

The gun is made out of unused parts from my Apatovor(Hydravor now?) build mentionned above. The barrel is from the NiStuff extra set 2.

Horrible pun name aside ( :) ), I like how this figure keeps the Armorvor aesthetics and introduces minimal additional build parts. Yet you've nicely achieved that taller look.

Battlecursed Mordirius: I haven't seen that armor configuration before -- going to have to play with this idea...

He also has hip armor! I actually saw that configuration on the Onell blog. Heck, their version somehow managed to cram two armor piece per arm! I haven't really figured it out, but I'm perfectly fine with the way he is.

Is the Enyrium one hub set or two? I think I have the parts for this in Gunmetal...

You can make it out of one Robo Force set and one Advanced Phaseon set, no extra upgrade sets are needed.

Astonishing how the oft maligned beast could actually rise to the occasion and look so stately. A fine gentlemanly build. Good show, ole' chap.

Still one of my favorites. With the added Phaseon, this is definitely a more accurate version of Johnny 5 than my budget build.

I saved these 2 builds in my own album from the old forums. Nuff said.

Love that techno-organic build, kranix. The Mushi parts really hit home with the mutation feel. Just a thought, those Mushi dots might not be easy to come by, could consider these instead:
- spare traveller limbs (or heaven forbid, heads) from Skeledens for loose appendages a la "The Thing",
- spare Neo Phase or any clear switch pins for a more nuclear/toxic look
- spare metallic switch pins for steampunk rivets/bolts
- or (imho the best alternative) Bio-Master goodness! ;)

Now here's some of my old favs in my collection that I've stopped tweaking. Pardon the pics dump.

Thanks eewk, for the cool builds and the kind words.

I went back and swapped out the gunmetal with some older metallic(?) green Phase Arm sets to lighten up the Armored AV Robot's look
Image

Next to him is a Gendrone equiped with a pressure suit (3xAxis Joints, 2xPhase Arm sets) that allows it to move in and survive crushing atmospheres and deep oceans.

Does anybody have a good build design for a mushi and 2 axis joints. I have some in the same color that need a build home.
