I'm really liking this cyborg Vartryx build I put together based on one of Matt's old builds. I feel like the spy monkey parts are under utilized in custom builds.

Lovin' the alien look to these two, especially with how they play off of each other's aesthetic. That Buildman is definitely a case of "he who fights monsters..."

You know, aside from how utterly monstrous this thing is, I really appreciate the support structures for the legs and arms. Reminds me of the kinds of builds that eewk used to cook up...

Oh wow, Armory parts! Such as awesome bird-bot build, although I wonder about the choice of kicks. Imagine walking around in shoes with human faces on them...

Haha! Until I can come up with a story reason for it maybe will just say this is an especially eccentric cyborg Vartryx with a unique fashion sense.

While disassembling my monster, I had found some pieces worked well together and went from there. Can't think of any clever names at the moment for them.

Though for this last one I did have an idea in mind; Gimmick over Function.
This is based on any mid to late 2000's Transformer where they are just a gimmick with legs and wheels.

Had a lot of down time thanks to a hurricane knocking out power for 6 days, so I figured why not turn my Villser-colored figures into a mutant tarantula? Seemed like the thing to do.

Quite the thing to do, indeed. That is one heck of a build! The chelicerae are a clever touch that adds a lot, and the cephalothorax and abdomen are awesomely patterned. Kudos on this crazy build!

Meanwhile, in addition to getting some much-needed curatorial work done over on the Build Encyclopedia, I spent a little time storycrafting:

Image

Listen, during the Old War, Metran did things to keep the Gendrones in line. Awful things. Things like the Warbrains. If one of those things gets itself attached to you, that's it. Everything about you -- your memories, your thoughts, whatever made you you, all of it -- gets snuffed out in an instant, with no chance of recovery. And your body just becomes a suit for these things. I ain't afraid of much, but rumor has it that some of those things are still out there...

Okay, your other builds to date have had a lot of character to them, for sure, but these are classic. Well done!

almost had it on the upper leg part but it doesn't look too good as it has to be backward and upside down and still fits akwardly. I'll have to get some better pics with my actual camera sometime, my phone camera is garbage.

Unrelated I think the infected dark traveler build works well with skeledon

For those who missed the mini-chat from the recent TFV drop, alot was said about how Villser would mesh well with Outlanders. So I decided to try it out for myself.

I have dubbed this one Malum, the Amathyst Devourer. The goal was to use the Bio Mass bodies as something other than a torso or head, so the design came from the wrists up. Wanted to use the Bio Mass wings but he didn't look like much of a flyer, so I thought something creepier was in order.

So rad, killer build wonder what’s the scale next to a traveler? Also what are the parts required to build such a behemoth?

A Traveler comes up to his mouth, since most of Malum's bulk is going outward he still dwarfs a typical figure. As for parts, I honestly wasn't keeping track, there's a pair of Bio-Mass Monsters, pair of Villsers, some Mushi bits, Glyan bits, a little Nemesis, Phaseon, bunch of upgrade sets, he's using a Buildman for his pelvis and part of his head... I basically put all my purple in a bucket and didn't worry about using every part from any one figure.

Nothing new here in a while, eh? Well here's some oldies of mine that I still dearly love. Simple builds, but the context is the fun part! Inspired by 1950's sci-fi movies.

The first one was a real garage project, but when the director/writer brought it around to film festivals, it hit big!

For the sequel a film studio funded the film and the production values skyrocketed! It easily overshadowed the first one.

For the third one the studio bought the rights, decided to go with another director, and tried doing it with a smaller budget, but it wasn't anywhere near as good as the second. Some say the original director/writer still haunts the studios, even though he's still alive.

Knock it off, Tyler. This "phantom" crap is getting old.
