I recently went through a kinda building renaissance. Broke almost everything down and started building crap.
This is gonna take a few posts.

First off, general robots:

Secondly; using the Nazgaar brain and the recent tmnt drop, Krang.

(Fun fact, I've never watched any incarnation of TMNT.)

Part II will be tomorrow
Do people even read these?

God I can't wait till there's been more Bio Masters releases to where it'll be easy to get ahold of em. These look so awesome to make customs with.

I've had these on my desk for a while.

Gendrone Tank. Combination of the Gendrone Defender and Zeroid sets, using most of the parts. The extra smaller parts can be used to convert it into a combat mode. It does not use the last big piece from the Defender.

Image

Neo-Vossonim? Good way to use the extra pieces from the Bio Paralyzer Glyarmor set anyway...

Phase Sentinel needed a second hand, and with all the leftover parts, gained a Service Droid.

MaxEPadd, I'm sorry for stealing your legs. Anyway, this used two Swing Joint sets, two Phase Arms, two Gobon Blasters, two Axis Joint sets, and the Pathfinder Glyarmor, so it's nearly technically contained. (Damn Gobon Blaster balls.) Think it might look a little better with opaque parts surrounding the Phanoid Extra Set "core," but you do what you can.

No worries, Max. Just keeping making awesome builds!

Also, an attempt at a smaller build for the Sarvoid:

Image

Two Axis Joint sets, one Phase Arm, one Gobon Blaster, and gritting teeth at the hip assembly because I don't have the heart to cut out the hips so that the Axis halves will sit flush on the pelvis.

Wish I had thought of this build back when we first had Echo Morphs...

What you're gritting your teeth over is why I miss Dark Travelers. Their pelvis fit axis joints and you could sub in whatever belt you wanted. I miss building up Travelers, but that one hiccup keeps me away.

Space-bug created with a Gobon Blaster and some spare Noboto/Glyarmor parts. Noboto's backpack works really well as a head.

OK, buckle up...

Here's a pair I put together from the Selogo drop. The blue parts count includes a Glyan, axis joint set x2, hub set x2, phase sets x2 & a swing joint set. In addition I used a Selogo gray swing joint set, a standard black swing joint set & some Xulturri clear yellow bits from the Evolver set.
Image
A bit of background info, I decided to go with the lizard-like Axilloid build for my Xulturri Evolver. I made a minor mod to the build by leaving out the axis ball halve under the head because I needed it for my blue Glyan's helmet visor. The Axilloid build also doesn't use the Noboto chest/pelvis/scarf/limbs so I made use of some of those spare bits along with a few pins. The Noboto chest came in handy for this jetpack build for the Glyan.
Image
Most of the rest found it's way into this big guy's build and weapon. As some of you might assume the weapon is 100% inspired by the riot control baton from the First Order Stormtrooper that Finn squares off against in The Force Awakens. Once I had this guy built up I wanted him to have a weapon that suited his size. My Glyan actually had different blasters that I had to reconfigure for the right parts for this weapon. I wanted the fold-out stun rods to be as flush as possible to the baton so I was swapping bits around over and over until I had the look I wanted.
ImageImageImage
All in all I like the builds. Aside from just missing the mark of being a contained build duo I think the thing kinda bothers me is the look of the gray swings. I'm not completely sold on how they look, the Glyan might look better in all blue. Anyway, I hope the builds and the insight were worth the ride.

Dig the mecha-inspired proportions on this one. Really looks like it should have an Evangelion deco next.

Oh, for my part, just a quick update on that little Phase Sentinel drone:

Haven't been building too much with Glyos these days past the blog builds, so I'm a little happy with this little guy.

Hey, everyone! I was doodling with the recent Lego-inspired selection and decided to try some M-tron and Classic Space inspired bots. I was a bit late purchasing, so I didn't get a chance to grab any of the gray but Matt was way awesome and snuck in one of the Astroloc Combo Suits! A.R.E.S. got the lion's share of gray, so the other is a bit of a sea of blue, but I'd like to get some more gray in the future to re-design H.E.R.M.E.S. with better color balance and shorter limbs.

In other news: Dropbox closed down its public file hosting so most of my stuff is currently offline. I'm gonna look into that sometime, but in the mean-time there's something that I've been putting off and I figure it's about time for me to share. It's a bit of a mess and a pain to navigate through currently, but I have put the OTF Purist Thread Archive on Flickr. It's been fun looking through these and seeing some of the cool old builds and discussions in that thread.

Hey there, stranger! Glad to have you back! The shared thematic elements really help those builds to shine, though it is a little hard to make out the torso bits.

You're a madman, absolute and utter. This is incredible! Thanks for this! Though I'm wondering if anyone else is having resolution issues, though, as everything gets a bit blurry on my end when zoomed in...

Sorry! I should have explained how I go about viewing the images in a legible resolution. When viewing an image, there are four options in the bottom right hand corner of the picture area. Click the arrow pointing down and a menu will pop up. Select "view all sizes" from it.

This leads to a separate page with several resolution options. The original resolution is the only one that is legible, but it's also a really huge picture, so that's something to keep in mind if anyone needs to watch their data usage and such. Unfortunately though, I don't see the option on mobile any more, so it's kinda limited to desktop. Definitely a pain to navigate. :psweat:

kranix wrote:though it is a little hard to make out the torso bits.

Is it just the construction or the picture quality? I could snap some pics of the construction. I think the forum downsizes the pictures, though, because my original picture was a bit larger.

Okay, that clears things up! Sorry, even after a couple years, I'm still figuring out Flickr. Just went back to the final page of posts, and dang, yeah, you made good on your word in spades. If you haven't already, you might want to reach out to the Instagram and Facebook communities with this news as well.

Probably the latter. I'm guessing some combination of Hub "hands," T-bars, Glyan hands, and the like?

EDIT: Oh, because of what I did in this post, I had to make another one:

Image

At this rate, I just need to change my avatar to a Gobon Ball.
