I personally prefer the smooth look of ABS vs PLA stepping, unless the texture could be incorporated into the design for aesthetics, Id be hesitant to jump on buy a ton of stuff like that. Well, it's a rough process of trial and error but I'm still making progress. The pieces are still coming out kinda f****, but they are improving each time.

One of two custom crays I did on commission. The guy who commissioned me wanted a cenobite Crayboth.



The second one is yet another Cthulhu cray that I'm still working on.

So, question. I seem to be having LOTS of trouble with ABS plastic, but alot of success with PLA. Problem is you can't vapor smooth PLA like Musbuh and Spaced Out do, so you can see stepping, but it's not very obvious since my printer is quite awesome. Don't worry about it, I'm sure its really frustrating and disheartening right now but you obviously care about making your Surgeon figure a reality and I'm sure you'll get there with a bit of perseverance!
